A call to head office revealed that they had NO paperwork on me as a volunteer. Communication between the local branch and head office is flawed at best, and it doesn't help that all their managers are young, inexperienced, and often being replaced. At the end of the day, the withdrawals stopped, I did get a refund for all the withdrawals taken out past the one month probation period, but now I'm on a temp membership plan that I have to renew every 3 months. This is their only solution to payments not being processed against my bank account (sigh) - ok, whatever... It's a nuisance but at least they've stopped charging me for my volunteer time! I just checked my bank online and they have taken money out. Again. I've been volunteering since the last week of November. They say there is a "one month probation period" where payments will come out (since when does probation mean that you still have to pay for working for them?!) but that if I stop volunteering, I still get that free month's worth of memberships. With me, I'm volunteering 6 hours a week to get 3 memberships: mine, my husband's and my son's. That's a $73 withdrawal every 2 weeks. In the new year, when payments were still coming out, I talked to 'the manager' and he had me sign another form - something I was supposed to have signed when I started volunteering - to stop the payments. They took money out all through January, and I figured instead of having a month free upon stopping volunteering, I'd have 2. Whatever. Just checked and they've taken out another payment dated Feb. 7. They're going to hear from me next week. I'm going to request a refund (although as in your case, I've heard from other people that they don't process refunds). Interesting huh? They can take your money out easily enough but they can't process a return. All I can say is IF they ever do get it right and the payments stop, I'm going to tell them at goodlife that I'm going to take all the time OFF that I was volunteering for them AND paying. Totally! I know it's no excuse, but we went to a friend's for dinner....I guess I could be doing it right now, but I'm so comfy in bed. And to give me some points, we did walk over to our friends for dinner....so I did get exercise, but ultimately I failed! BOOO!! I am going to have to think of some sort of punishment and reward to motivate me....any thoughts?? I FAILED!!!
